Meet the Explorers (Tsiribihina)

These six volunteers are based in the Manambolo-Tsiribihina mangroves, one of WWF Madagascar's priority landscapes. Manambolo-Tsiribihina is on the West coast of Madagascar and boasts the largest and most intact stretches of mangrove forests in the Western Indian Ocean region. These forests are home to endangered endemic birds and provide shelter and breeding grounds for marine species that are critically important to local livelihoods.

During their 3-month volunteering mission the volunteers will support the implementation of measures to manage natural resources in the area, work to improve the livelihoods of local communities through eco-tourism development and participate in the restoration of mangroves.
